Events
👉CSIRT-CAN visited La Gomera to assess the island's cybersecurity situation
➡️On February 3rd, the CSIRT CAN team visited the La Gomera Island Council to learn about the island's cybersecurity status. The Director General of Technological Transformation, Guadalupe González, gave an informative presentation on the project.

➡️The newsletter of the Canary Islands Government's Department of Technology and Innovation (@dgtnt_gobcan) featured the 1st Canary Islands Cybersecurity Conference. We thank all the entities and technical professionals who ensure everyone's safety.

News + Analysis
➡️We analyzed the best fictional series for delving into the world of Cybersecurity, creating a space for entertainment on an account that generally focuses on serious information.

➡️New updates to the Cybersecurity Law Code in Spain were published at the end of the year, demonstrating the state's continued commitment to cyber intelligence.

Alerts
➡️A critical vulnerability in Fortinet solutions was actively exploited. This vulnerability alerted numerous organizations worldwide that used this cloud service to collect their data.

➡️Google released an emergency patch for a Zero Day vulnerability in Chrome, as users reported a security flaw that could have triggered an exploit to extract user memory. ➡️INCIBE shared several vulnerabilities in the second week of February: IceWrap, Ghost, Nextcloud Talk, Moodle, Dell RecoverPoint…all these companies confirmed exploitable flaws and recommended immediate updates.

📨Awareness + 📨Highlights
🚨The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) published the 10 most important vulnerabilities in blockchain smart contracts, highlighting attack trends and real cybersecurity data for 2025.
🚨We break down a study on the threats predicted for 2038, a year in which vulnerabilities in numerous technological systems are being warned about, which could affect payments, cause problems with medical equipment, and lead to errors in industrial automation.

Preparation a decade in advance is necessary to counter the alerts issued by experts.
