Do you know if your connection is involved in a botnet? In other words, do you know if something bad is happening from your IP address?
The AntiBotnet service provides citizens and businesses with mechanisms to identify if any security incidents related to botnets or other threats have been detected from their internet connection within Spain.
This service is offered in two ways:
• The first is through Internet service providers who collaborate with us, notifying you of security incidents affecting your connection.
• If you have received a message with a code via email from your Internet service provider, one of the devices connected to the network may be infected with malware related to a botnet or other threat. Check the code they provided and get the information directly.
• The second is through the use of our online tools.
• The Anti-Botnet Service also offers businesses an easy way to monitor their company's public IP addresses for botnet-related threats.
To this end, the Anti-Botnet Service offers businesses an easy way to monitor their company's public IP addresses for botnet-related threats.
In this case, the IT department, or the IT company that manages the company's devices, can use the service by following the technical instructions found in the document displayed after clicking "I accept."
How did the service come about?
The Anti-Botnet Service was created as a result of a public-private partnership project, driven by the guidelines set out in Measure 5 of the Digital Trust Plan and implemented by the main Information Society Service Providers, the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and the Information Society (SETSI), and the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE). Its purpose is to provide the information and tools necessary for disinfecting devices affected by cybersecurity incidents related to botnets or other threats, thus contributing to a more reliable and secure internet for everyone.
At the European level, the Antibotnet service is part of an initiative proposed by the European Advanced Cyber Defense Centre (ACDC) project, in which INCIBE participates, forming part of a European network of National Support Centers for combating threats generated by botnets.
