This Tuesday, November 25th, the opening ceremony of the XIX STIC CCN-CERT Conference and VII ESPDEF-CERT Cyber Defense Conference | RootedCON Congress was held. The conference is taking place from November 24th to 27th at the Kinépolis Ciudad de la Imagen Cinemas in Madrid under the theme "A Digital Shield for an Interconnected Spain."
The event was attended by the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, the Secretary of State Director of the CNI and the CCN, Esperanza Casteleiro, among other prominent figures in Spanish state security.
This conference represents the largest cybersecurity gathering in Spain. The National Cryptologic Center (CCN), in collaboration with the National Intelligence Center and other organizations, is hosting an event that brings together more than 8,000 professionals from 42 countries with a common goal: the cybersecurity of global citizens.
Among the topics discussed will be the current state of cybercrime, its economic impact, and the development of disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and quantum computing.
In addition, Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented in support of Cybersecurity, honoring the professionals who make a safe world for everyone possible.
On this occasion, and exceptionally, two awards were presented. One, the Extraordinary Award, went to Luis Jiménez, who served as Deputy Director General of the CCN for 10 years and is a Colonel of Infantry.
The other award was given to Carlos Galán, Professor of ICT Law at Carlos III University of Madrid, advisor to the CCN, and a member of the team that drafted the National Security Framework.
The CSIRT-CAN project will be represented at the conference by its team of professionals, who publicize the work of the Government of the Canary Islands to preserve the security of public administrations and ensure the well-being of all Canary Islanders.
